Conferences and Symposia

Over the last decade the Vincentian Studies Institute has offered a range of conferences and symposia centered upon Vincentian themes. These have taken place across the United States, have featured nationally recognized speakers, and have been well received.

In 2000 we concluded the Vincentian National Leadership Symposium: Unfolding the Legacy of Our Mission, developed to address mission-based leadership development. With ten presentations covering a variety of topics, this event was offered four times over the course of three years, from Orlando, FL, to Tucson, AZ, to Chicago, IL, and was attended by hundreds of members of the Vincentian family.

On April 21st and 22nd of 2004 the Vincentian Studies Institute, in collaboration with De Andreis-Rosati Memorial Archives, Midwest Province, Congregation of the Mission, and Special Collections and Archives Department, DePaul University, sponsored the Vincentian Archivists Conference: Vincentian Archives for the 21st century: The Records of Our Past Look to our Future. The event included presentations by leading archivists and historians, roundtable discussions, and concluded with the presentation of the first Pierre Coste prize for distinguished accomplishments in Vincentian Studies.

Information on future symposia, including a possible Conference on the Future of Vincentian Studies in the English-speaking World tentatively scheduled for 2006, will be posted here as it becomes available.
